What is internet?

Internet is the combination of large networks so called as network of networks.the Internet is generally defined as a global networks connecting more than millions of computer. More than 180 countries are linked into exchanges of data, news. Through the mean of internet we can perform various works staying at some. The social status of people his completely changed after the development of Internet.

Who developed the internet?

Internet is not a personally developed , many people has contributed for the development of Internet . But the main concept of internet is credited to Leonard Kleinrock after he published his first paper entitled “Information Flow in Large Communication Nets” on May, 1961.

What was the first message in Internet?
The first message on internet was sent from Professor Leonard Kleinrock’s laboratory at UCLA, to a computer.
At SRI. The connection not only enabled to thee first transmission to be made.

What is computer network and its types?

Computer network, where two or more computers are connected with each other in order to communicate data electronically. There are generally 3 types of Computer networks i.e LAN, MAN, WAN.

Comupter Network

LAN:-
LAN is a group of computers , that are connected in a small area such as building, home, etc. Through this type of network, users can easily communicate with each other by sending and receiving messages. LAN is generally used for connecting two or more personal computers through some medium such as twisted pair, coaxial cable etc. Through the number of computers connected in a LAN is limited, the data is transferred at an extremely faster rate.

WAN:-

WAN is a group of computers that are connected in a large area such as continent, country, etc. WAN is generally used for connecting two or more LANs through some medium such as leased telephone lines, microwaves, etc. In WAN, data is transferred at slow rate.

MAN:-

MAN

MAN is a network of computers that covers a large area like city. The size of the MAN generally lies between LAN and WAN, typically covering a distance of 5 km to 50 km. The geographical area covered by MAN is comparatively larger than LAN but smaller than WAN. MAN is generally owned by private organizations. MAN is generally connected with the help of optical fibers, copper wires etc.

What is difference between Network and internet?

Network is just a bunch of computers connected together to share information, this can be as simple as two computers connected to each other with a single Ethernet cable or say 10 or so computers connected to a switch or hub, connected together so they can all share data with one another

Now what if I were to tell you there was a network that connects the entire world, you can access this network from your phone, your computer, your TV, some washers and dryers, and even some ovens connect to this network .
How does the internet works?

The Internet works through a packet routing network in accordance with the Internet Protocol (IP), the Transport Control Protocol (TCP) and others protocols.

Application of Internet:-
The internet has many important application . Internet has become the part of life in modern life. Some of the application of the Internet are:
Electronic mail (E-mail). At least 80% of the inhabitants of cyberspace send and receives -email.

Web browsing. 

Peer-to peer services.
Education and self-improvement. Online courses and workshops through internet helps student to improve mindset.
Job opportunity. Through the mean of internet we can get online job sitting at home.
Social Media. We can get connected to people throughout the world through the social media.
Gaming. Many online games get their stand nowadays , PUBG, Free Fire, Fortnite and many more
Business. Internet is widely used in business for faxing , communication and data management and presentation.
Communication . Internet is the best and fastest mean of communication .

The survey shows that individuals, corporations, business people, and groups use Internet primarily as a communications vehicle as these users reduce their use of fax machines, telephones, and the postal service. E-mail remain at the top of the list.

Though Internet is very helpful and useful but many issues and problem are also created due to the Internet. Lets see some of the disadvantages of the internet:-

Spam and negative advertising.
Theft, hacking, terrorism, data loss, cheating, fraud .
Pornographic and violent images.
Addiction , loss of time .
Internet is also expensive to use.
Depression , loneliness.
Trolls, Cybercrime and cheating.
Health issues and obesity.


What is IP address?
IP address stands for Internet Protocol address is numeric label assignment to each device connected to a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication.

The main function of IP address is to host or network interface identification and location addressing.


Routing and its types.

Routing is the process of selecting a path for traffic in a network or between or across multiple networks. It is performed by 3 layer device in order to deliver the packet by choosing an optimal path.

There are two types of routing:-
Statics Routing: This is the type of routing in which the optimal path between all possible pairs of source and destination in the given network is pre defined and fed into the routing table of the routers of the network.

Dynamic Routing: This type gives the router the ability to discover the network by protocols like (Open Shortest Path First) OSPF and RIP (Routing Information Protocol), updates the routing table by itself and effectively decides upon the path that the incoming packet must follow to reach the destination.

In conclusion, internet is one of the best things ever invented in humanity. The amount of things you can do over the internet is extremely phenomenal. It is an absolute great tool to learn and communicate in just a click of a mouse.
